Stay and relax while you learn to swim in a Weekend

Posted on

When you learn to swim it is best that you are completely relaxed, calm and comfortable.

On our “learn to swim in a weekend” you will have the opportunity to stay in our gorgeous lakeside studio, Digby’s Den, helping you to leave the stresses of work and home behind so you can concentrate on the new skill you have chosen to master.

Digby’s Den

The ability to swim can open out so many opportunities. Yes, it is nice to be able to take a nice cooling dip in the pool or the sea if you are away on holiday but it also such a wonderful skill that can help you during rehabilitation from injury and a wonderful way to remain supple as you grow older. It is fun and an activity that can be shared with all members of the family.

Learn to swim – It doesn’t matter what age you are, once you have decided you want to learn to swim then you are half way there and Julie will help you match your positive attitude by at least double! Having taught swimming for over 40 years, she has a wealth of experience and knowledge to help you through these first stages and beyond.

Meet Julie – She is qualified both with the ASA and the STA and alongside the experience she has gained, she draws the best from both organisations to be able to adapt to you as an individual. With the use of a small indoor pool that will be used exclusively for your lesson time with no spectators you will be able to overcome the embarrassments and fears you have built up over the years. The pool is just 1.1m in depth – deep enough to swim yet shallow enough to make you feel secure.

Plan of action – Like with many other sports or skills you decide to learn there is an element of achieving on your first lesson and  then feeling like you are slipping back and feeling you are failing by the time you get to your second class. By intensifying the lessons, this 2 steps forward and 1 step back feeling is reduced to the minimum as you will not have a whole week to conjure up scary thoughts and fears and be able to progress on with your new skills.
